Singing for All

16 October 2010, 9:30am - 12:00pm

A workshop for adults led by Fiona Dobie.

Beautiful harmony songs are taught by ear, with hot tips on how to sing well. This is fun and enlightening for all singers, experienced and beginners.

No previous experience is necessary, so if you've always wanted to explore your voice (and everyone has one!), do come along and try this out.

The £10 participation fee includes tea and biscuits in the break.

Call 01865 246718 for more details.

Fiona Dobie enjoys a varied career, as a soloist and teacher working with many inspiring musicians. She works interactively, encouraging people to tune into their innate imagination, creativity and awareness, and to have a good time!

Fiona studied at the  Royal Scottish Academy of Music and then at the Royal College of Music. She was a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Competition and won the French song prize at s'Hertogenbosch International Singing Competition. She has enjoyed a wide-ranging solo career with such conductors as Sir Roger Norrington and Sir Simon Rattle, recitals and chamber music with David Owen Norris and Malcolm Martineau and principal roles with  Glyndebourne on Tour, the  Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and  Opera North.

Fiona's delight in sharing things that inspire her lead her to run a successful singing practice in Oxford and in London. She also gives singing workshops in many diverse settings. Increasingly recognised as an established teacher and vocal coach, she works annually at the Oxenfoord International Singing Summer School in Scotland and on Oxford Lieder Festival's Master Course.  She is an associate teacher of New York singing mentor David Jones.
