Masterclass for Music College Applicants
28 November 2019, 11:00am - 4:00pm
Oxford Lieder are pleased to announce that we will once again be running Robin Bowman’s Masterclass for Music College Applicants. Robin shares his vast experience as the former Head of Vocal Studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in a masterclass for students who are planning to apply to music college. Robin discusses not only musical matters but also what to expect from and how best to deal with the audition process.
Each participant will receive 30 minutes of one to one coaching with Robin and will benefit from his fascinating introductory talk and workshops about audition technique and preparation.
We ask that participants prepare a total of three pieces in contrasting styles and moods, two of which must be lied or art song and one of which can be an operatic or oratorio aria. In order to make the most of the Masterclass, we encourage participants to attend the whole masterclass session. This is not a strict requirement, please discuss with us if your time is limited.
Participants may bring their own accompanist or use Oxford Lieder's in-house accompanist for a small additional charge. The Masterclass audience is largely made up of friends, family and colleagues of performers. Members of the public are also welcome to attend.
Participation Fee: £35
Included in the cost of the Masterclass is a ticket to the evening’s recital which is part of Oxford
Lieder’s Song at Wolfson series:
