Patron's Concert: Sir Thomas Allen (baritone) & Roger Vignoles (piano)

Sir Thomas Allen, Oxford Lieder's patron, is one of the world's best-known baritones, and this evening's concert will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the Oxford Lieder Festival to date. Joined by the renowned accompanist Roger Vignoles*, he performs a programme of Fauré, Duparc and Ravel in the wonderful and atmospheric setting of the University Church.

Sir Thomas has appeared on every major opera and concert stage around the globe, and has a far-reaching discograhpy of song and opera alike. French song has been at the core of his repertoire, and tonight's programme includes many of the finest "Mélodies".

Demand for this concert is sure to be extremely high, so early booking is advised.

 

* Roger Vignoles is the 2008/ 9 Jesus College Visiting Artist. Supported by Jesus College and the Kohn Foundation, Roger will return twice more over the next twelve months, and will also give several public masterclasses.
