Rural Lieder - Schumann: Myrten

14 October 2006, 3:00pm

The first of two concerts presented with the support of Peter Crowther/ Musicstand, taking Festival concerts out of the city and into the rural county. Three outstanding musicians from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama perform Schumann's most substantial song cycle, a wedding gift to his wife Clara. Although this cycle contains many of Schumann's most popular songs, it is rarely performed complete requiring as it does two singers.

You can also hear this programme at the lunchtime concert on Tuesday 24th October.
