Lorraine Byrne-Bodley is the keynote speaker in a one-day international conference that examines Schubert's perceived failure as an opera composer against his undisputed mastery of the small-scale drama in song. Speakers are coming to the Festival from around the UK, France, USA and Ireland.

9.30am-11am - Papers

11am - Coffee

11.30am - Keynote lecture: Lorraine Byrne Bodley. 'Goethe and Schubert: The Wonder of Song and Vicissitudes of the Singspiel'

12.30pm - Lunch break, including 1.10pm concert at Holywell Music Room

2.30pm-4pm - Papers

4.30pm-6pm - Lecture recital given by the Marmara Piano Trio
