Celebrated soprano Kate Royal and acclaimed accompanist Malcolm Martineau are joined by rising-star baritone Manuel Walser, who recently won the prestigious 'Das Lied' competition in Berlin, for a programme of settings of August and Friedrich Schlegel. These remarkable brothers were both prominent figures, co-founding the literary journal Das Athenaeum, creating seminal translations of, amongst others, Shakespeare, and influencing the other romantic artists of their time, not least Schubert.
