Roderick Swanston gives an introduction to the repertoire performed in tonight's concert
One of Britain's best-loved singers, Felicity Palmer makes her first appearance at the Festival in a programme exploring "women on the edge", socially, emotionally and physically! Joined by pianist Simon Lepper, they will perform songs by a wide range of composers, from Purcell to Schumann to Tchaikovsky to the gypsy songs of Brahms and Dvorak, to Sondheim and Broadway. The programme has already been performed on a number of times to great acclaim and this is sure to be a wonderful evening.
