On Saturday 19th May, six exceptional young duos gave 40-minute recitals, competing for this year's Young Artist Platform. Our adjudicator, the renowned soprano Sophie Daneman, faced an extremely hard decision, and in the end the prize, which consists of a number of paid engagements around the country, was divided between three duos:
First place went to soprano Lucy Hall (pictured) and pianist Gavin Roberts.
Two other duos were selected for the scheme: soprano Alison Rose and pianist Matthew Fletcher, and mezzo-soprano Rozanna Madylus with pianist Finnegan Downie Dear.
Three other superb recitals were given by:
Tristan Hambleton (baritone) and Manon Ablett (piano)
Lucy Roberts (soprano) and James Sherlock (piano)
Jorge Navarro-Colorado (tenor) and Catherine Norton (piano)
