Three outstanding duos selected for the Young Artist Platform

19 February 2013

On Sunday 17th February, Oxford Lieder audiences were treated to six superb duos giving 40-minute recitals in the Shulman Auditorium, Queen's College. The duos were all at post-graduate conservatoire level, and had applied to take part in the Young Artist Platform, now in its third year. Adjudicator Roderick Williams was faced with a very hard choice and emphasised at the end of the day just how high the standard had been in all six recitals. In the end he selected three duos for the scheme:

Alessandro Fisher (tenor) & Ricardo Gosalbo (piano)

Justin Kim (counter-tenor) & Sachika Taniyama (piano)

Rosalind Coad (soprano) & Gregory Drott (piano)

These duos will give recitals at this year's Oxford Lieder Festival and will then give a series of recitals in music clubs and festivals around the country, supported by Oxford Lieder. Anyone interested in presenting Oxford Lieder Young Artists in recital should email info@oxfordlieder.co.uk.

We are very grateful to the Jean Meikle Trust, Jesus College & The Kohn Foundation, and Trufflehunter for their generous support of the Young Artist Platform.
