Dev
English source:
Nazli Tabatabai-Khatambakhsh
I dwell amongst you
From time and after time
Here in the present
Not a Fairy, but a Dev
I shapeshift
I dement
I devour
And never relent… Well, sometimes
I delight in your folly
Weep at your recovery
Hold the bottle,
For your glass
I dance with you
I dare you to take another glance
Into your dreams I pour ink
Make your bedsheets stink
It’s not so much, I want to destroy you
Rather to make you think
Make you consider
Without me, what would make you blink?
From time and after time
Here in the present
Not a Fairy, but a Dev
I shapeshift
I dement
I devour
And never relent… Well, sometimes
I delight in your folly
Weep at your recovery
Hold the bottle,
For your glass
I dance with you
I dare you to take another glance
Into your dreams I pour ink
Make your bedsheets stink
It’s not so much, I want to destroy you
Rather to make you think
Make you consider
Without me, what would make you blink?
