Text

Die Freundin
German source: Marianne von Willemer

Zarter Blumen leicht Gewinde
Flecht’ ich dir zum Angebinde,
Unvergängliches zu bieten
War mir leider nicht beschieden.

In den leichten Blumenranken
Lauschen liebende Gedanken
Die in leisen Tönen klingen,
Und dir fromme Wünsche bringen.

Und so bringt vom fernen Orte
Dieses Blatt dir Blumenworte,
Mögen sie vor deinen Blicken
Sich mit frischen Farben schmücken.
