Und Veilchen sind dabei.

Maiglöckchen spielt zum Tanz im Nu
The lily-of-the-valley plays at once,
Und alle tanzen dann,
And all now start to dance,
Der Mond sieht ihnen freundlich zu,
The moon looks on happily,
Hat seine Freude d’ran.
And shares in the fun.
Den Junker Reif verdross das sehr,
Master hoar-frost sulks and sulks,
Er kommt in’s Tal hinein:

Maiglöckchen spielt zum Tanz nicht mehr,

Fort sind die Blümelein.
Away go the little flowers.

Doch kaum der Reif das Tal verlässt,
But as soon as the hoar-frost has left the valley,
Da rufet wieder schnell
Lily-of-the-valley swiflty summons
Maiglöckchen zu dem Frühlingsfest
All to the spring festivities
Und läutet doppelt hell.
And rings out twice as brightly.
Nun hält’s auch mich nicht mehr zu Haus,
Now I can no longer stay inside,
Maiglöckchen ruft auch mich:
The lily-of-the-valley calls me too:
Die Blümchen geh’n zum Tanz hinaus,
The little flowers go out to the dance,
Zum Tanze geh’ auch ich!
And to the dance go I!
