she runs, runs, wild, dauntless.
The dark night silently takes fright,
the moon hides behind shawls of clouds.
The wind in hysterical howling
rushes into the forest depths.
The grove growls with its fir-tree pikes,
owls hide with terrified cries.
The witch waves her bony hands.
Stars wink behind clouds above the groves.
Snakes for earrings hang beneath her locks,
she whirls terrifyingly, madly with the storm.
The witch dances to the sound of the forest
as the black clouds plunge through the sky.
