The 1828 Syndicate
The 1828 Syndicate is our special group of supporters, founded to support the Festival's long-term artistic ambitions.
Our 1828 Syndicate was founded in early 2022 thanks to a
generous lead gift from Hamish & Sophie Forsyth to support our
annual Schubert Weekends at each Oxford International Song Festival from
2022-2028.
We are looking ahead to milestones for the
Festival in 2024 - when we celebrate 10 years on from 'The Schubert
Project' (the groundbreaking and RPS-award winning Festival in 2014 when
all of Schubert's songs were performed) - and 2028, the bicentenary of
Schubert's death.
During our Schubert Weekends, pre-eminent scholar-pianist Graham
Johnson will give a lecture-recital, tracing the final seven years of
Schubert's life in detail, and the other events and concerts across each
weekend will have a particular focus on this pioneering composer.
Members make exceptionally generous gifts with an annual commitment to support at this level until at least 2024.
