Mastercourse 2023
Whilst last year’s Mastercourse formed part of our Young Artist Programme, this year’s course was open for any duos to apply.
The Mastercourse takes place during the second week of the Festival from Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 October and we are delighted to be welcoming internationally renowned baritone Wolfgang Holzmair as lead tutor. He will be joined by guest tutors Jan Philip Schulze, Anne Le Bozec, Anna Tilbrook & Graham Johnson. All duos receive generous coaching time and access to all Festival concerts, and additional benefits include a programming symposium and private visit to the music collection of the Bodleian Libraries. Teaching sessions will take place in the Levine Building, Trinity College and other venues around Oxford.
Mastercourse sessions in the Levine Building are open to the public from Monday 23 to Friday 27 October. Further details of tickets and guest tutors on each day are available on the individual What's On pages for this year's Festival.
Each year the Mastercouse culminates in a recital by participants. Introduced by the lead tutor, Wolfgang Holzmair, this celebratory concert is always a highlight of the Festival. This year's Mastercourse Concert takes place on Saturday 28 October. Further details and tickets are available here.

The Mastercourse was such a special experience, and one that I will never forget. To spend time in beautiful Oxford, totally immersed in music-making, under the guidance of internationally renowned musicians, and then being able to experience stunning concert performances in the evenings – it was a dream week!
