The Mastercourse is at the heart of Oxford Song’s commitment to supporting the next generation of singers and pianists. It gives exceptional young duos the opportunity to immerse themselves in song, working intensively with internationally renowned artists while experiencing the Festival and its world-class performances.

In 2026, the Mastercourse forms part of our Young Artist Programme, an 18-month professional development programme for eight outstanding singer-pianist duos. Each Young Artist duo receives a fully funded place on the Mastercourse, alongside further training and performance opportunities throughout 2026 and 2027.

Mastercourse 2026

This year’s Mastercourse takes place during the second week of the Festival, with four days of public masterclasses from 19–22 October.

The Young Artists will work with pianist Jan Philip Schulze, alongside guest tutors Camilla Tilling, Sarah Connolly, Christoph Prégardien and Pauliina Tukiainen.

Audiences are warmly invited to attend the Mastercourse sessions and experience the development of these exceptional young artists at close quarters.

The week culminates in the Mastercourse Concert at the Holywell Music Room on Saturday 24 October, when the Young Artists perform in one of the highlights of the Festival.
