20. Holywell Cemetery

A stone’s throw from the Holywell Music Room is the beautifully rambling Holywell Cemetery. Many well-known figures are buried there including the famous Sanskrit scholar and philologist Max Müller, the son of Wilhelm Müller who was the poet of Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin and Winterreise. William Whyte, Chair of the Oxford Preservation Trust and the Oxford Historical Society, gives a brief introduction to Max Müller, as well as other important people laid to rest there, before a visit to the cemetery (weather permitting).
