Brahms & The Clarinet

17 October 2017, 5:30pm 17 July 2024 - 8:51pm

Brahms was inspired to come out of his self-imposed retirement by the playing of the clarinettist Richard Mühlfeld. Several works for clarinet followed, among them his glorious Clarinet Trio, Op.114 (1891), heard here alongside a movement of Zemlinsky’s Clarinet Trio and Schubert’s evergreen Shepherd on the Rock

Programme
  • Alexander von Zemlinsky (1871 - 1942)
