Capturing the Illusive Image: Debussy and Impressionism
13 October 2018, 5:30pm 18 December 2024 - 6:45pm
Please note a change in today's artist. We are sorry that Paul Roberts has had to withdraw from this event but are very grateful to James Kreiling for stepping in. James is a close colleague of Paul Roberts, and the subject of his talk and the music included will be very much in keeping with the advertised event.
James Kreiling is an acclaimed young pianist, with a particular specialism in the music of the early 20th Century. This afternoon he plays movements from Debussy’s Préludes and Images and, in a lecture-recital format, leads us through the multiple delights of the Debussy sound world which has so many affinities with visual concepts.
N.B. A 'Debussy Day Pass' is available to purchase for £65 which will enable you to attend all talks and concerts (excluding meals) at the festival on 13th October 2018. Please book your day pass here: https://www.oxfordlieder.co.uk/event/938
