Franz Schubert - Death and the Maiden Quartet D810
David performs Schubert's last collection of songs - Schwanengesang. The texts are by Rellstab, Heine and Seidl and include Der Dopplegänger and Das Fischermädchen. The Rosendale Quartet, winners of the prestigious Royal College of Music Chamber Prize, perform Death and the Maiden D810. This epic work will be preceded by Schubert's song of the same title, upon which the slow funeral march of the second movement is based.
