Songs of London: Mendelssohn, Haydn, Walton and others

Star soprano Lucy Crowe returns to the Festival with an intriguing programme based around London; songs written in the city, about it, and for it. William Walton’s Song for the Lord Mayor’s Table, one of the highlights of 20th-century English song, is complemented by songs by Mendelssohn, Haydn and others.
