Watts Elizabeth2 credit Marco Borggreve Resized

Music and Myths

18 April 2027, 5:00pm - 6:30pm

“It’s always a pleasure to listen to Watts” wrote The Times, praising “a voice without any weak spots, always deployed with warmth, good taste and palpable feeling”. At Oxford Song, we couldn’t agree more: Elizabeth Watts has been a much-loved regular in our programmes since 2015, and each visit by this versatile and engaging British soprano is keenly awaited. Her theme tonight is music itself; songs about singers, musicians and the myths they inspire - from Schubert to Hugo Wolf, and beyond. Oxford Song artistic director Sholto Kynoch is at the piano, resuming a partnership forged in 2024’s enchanting performance of Brahms’s Liebeslieder Waltzes.
