Piano Recital: Martin Sturfält plays Mozart, Wolf & Liszt

18 October 2011, 12:10pm - 1:00pm

This renowned Swedish pianist makes a welcome return to the Festival in a programme that highlights the late 19th-century fascination with Wagner. Wolf’s early paraphrases are almost never performed and cast a new light on this composer. Also included are works by Liszt; his remarkable transcription of the Liebestod from Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde and his distinctly operatic Vallée d’Obermann.
