Ralph Vaughan Williams – Songs of Travel

Robert Louis Stevenson’s poems provide the text for this classic English song cycle, which reflects Vaughan Williams’ preoccupation with both Schubert and English folk song. The nine songs dwell on the various states of the wandering protagonist, and have been immensely popular since their first performance in 1904.
