ctyri kocky svázáný,
a pátý pes, do pece vlez,
ukrad tam topinku,
bezel s ní po rynku;
potkala ho kráva,
to byla jeho máma;
potkal ho bulícek,
to byl ten tatícek,
potkal ho bejcek,
to byl ten strejcek;
potkal ho hrebecek,
to byl ten dedecek.
Potkala ho kozicka,
to byla jeho babicka!
A Fine Sermon
English translation ©
Anon.
With entangled cats begins.
Rover our hound jumped wth one bound,
Stole a big tart so sweet,
Ran with it down the street,
Ran under Moocow's tummy,
Looked up and called her Mummy.
Snapped at Ox, made him mad,
Turned back and called him Dad.
Saw Bull before him:
"Uncle, good morning."
Ran past an old white horse,
Called him "Grandad" of course.
Then a goat ran by so proud,
"Grandmother Goat" he called out loud.
