Ein Gedanke
German source: Eduard Ferrand

Sie schlingt um meinen Nacken
Den Arm so weich und weiss;
Ich presse sie an den Busen,
Da wird mir glühend heiss.

Da löst Gefühl und Denken
In einem Gedanken sich:
Ihr Herz schlägt an dem meinen,
Ihr Herz, es schlägt für mich.

A Thought
English translation © Richard Stokes

She encircles my neck
With her soft, white arms;
I press her against me
And glow with desire.

Feelings and thoughts
Then melt into one:
Her heart beats against mine,
Her heart beats for me.
