She’s a suffering kitten,
And he’s as sick as a dog,
I think that both of them
Are not quite right in the head.
Both their souls are intimate,
But both remain estranged
From what in each is located
Between their shirt and their soul.
The beloved imagines herself
To be a lotus-flower;
But he, her pale companion,
Claims to be the moon.
The lotus-flower unveils
Her calyx in the moonlight,
But instead of being impregnated,
She only receives a poem.
