In the morning, we leave the city centre (which is taken over the Half Marathon!) for the beautiful setting of Rycote Park, and a chance to hear a selection of lute songs in the 15th-century Rycote Chapel. In the afternoon, Benjamin Appl concludes his weekend residency with a specially devised homage to his teacher, mentor and friend, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, who would have turned 100 this year. In the evening, we welcome back the renowned German soprano Juliane Banse, with pianist Daniel Heide, for an entrancing programme of Mahler, Berg and Strauss.
