Benjamin Appl talks and sings in our first ‘Song Sofa’: a new format designed to create a very personal connection between audience, artist and music. Kitty Whately and Simon Lepper give two concerts of fairytales, one devised for families with children, with illustrator James Mayhew, who paints live on stage. Natasha Loges leads a fascinating study afternoon, taking us on a global journey in the company of composers from around the world who were inspired by the European voice and piano song tradition. This connects to the evening concert given by Stephan Loges and Libby Burgess, which fuses songs from Schubert’s Winterreise with songs from Japan to Venezuela.
