19 October 2019, 7:30pm - 9:25pm
Roderick Williams begins his residency at the Festival, which will include three concerts, a talk and a masterclass, performing Schubert’s great cycle Die schöne Müllerin in Jeremy Sams’s sparkling English translation. Before this, rising-star mezzo-soprano Marta Fontanals-Simmons gives the world premiere of The Tuning, a new cycle by the acclaimed Scottish composer Martin Suckling, setting the poetry of Michael Donaghy.
