Brahms and Zemlinsky: Piatti String Quartet, Johnston, Papadakis
23 October 2017, 5:30pm 17 November 2024 - 2:32pm
Brahms's two string sextets are epic works of the chamber music repertoire. The second of them, Op.36 in G, is presented here with Zemlinsky's rarely-heard but beautiful song for soprano and string sextet, Maiblumen blühten überall. We are delighted to welcome the Piatti String Quartet to the Festival for the first time.
