Intimate Letters
16 October 2025, 5:15pm - 6:15pm
Please note this concert will now be given by the Adler Quartet.
The Castalian Quartet recently disbanded and two of their members - violist Natalie Loughran and cellist Steffan Morris - have formed a new quartet, the Adler Quartet.
It’s always an exciting moment when an ensemble is born, especially with such exceptional players, and we are thrilled they will be giving one of their very first concerts at this year's festival. The first part of the programme, originally announced with the Castalian Quartet, remains unchanged, but in place of Janáček's 'Intimate Letters' quartet they will be performing Smetana's first String Quartet, a glorious work of peak Romanticism. We look forward to welcoming the Adler Quartet to the Festival.
