James Gilchrist & Eric McElroy: A Short Story of Falling

World-renowned tenor James Gilchrist is joined by rising star pianist-composer Eric McElroy in this special lunchtime concert that features the world premiere of Eric McElroy’s setting of the Oxford Professor of Poetry Alice Oswald, ‘A Short Story of Falling’, commissioned by Oxford Lieder in 2021 and postponed due to illness. James and Eric also include songs by Lennox Berkeley, Doreen Carwithen and Muriel Herbert, all leading lights of the English song tradition.
