Master Course Participants' Concert, introduced by Sarah Walker CBE

22 October 2008, 8:00pm

Tonight's concert is the culmination of the master course, led by the legendary mezzo-soprano Sarah Walker, that has been taking place over the preceeding four days at the North Wall centre. 10 advanced student duos (post-graduate level at least) have been working intensively with Sarah, as well as receiving coaching from Julius Drake, Richard Stokes and Eugene Asti.

In a way it is wrong to think of the participants on the course as "students". They are generally at the end of their studies and about to embark on careers. The standard last year was extremely high, and promises to been even more so this year, so please do come and support these outstanding young musicians. This willl most certainly be a concert worth hearing.

We are not able to publish a programme in advance as the repertoire will be selected by Sarah Walker (who will also give a brief introduction to the concert) based on the work undertaken over the week. With an excitin international blend of participants this year the selection of songs on offer promises to be an interesting and extensive mix.
