Pauline Viardot: An Audience in your hand

Ahead of tonight's concert, author and broadcaster Kate Kennedy explores the life and music of the remarkable composer and singer Pauline Viardot. Viardot was a talented pianist, who studied with Liszt and played duets with Chopin, and a hugely celebrated singer, with roles written for her by Saint-Saëns, Gounod, Berlioz and many others. She also left a significant legacy of songs.
