Social DistanSong Day Three: Dorottya Láng & Julius Drake

30 March 2020, 12:00pm - 11:55pm

It's day three of Social DistanSong. Today we would have welcomed the wonderful Hungarian mezzo-soprano Dorottya Láng, with pianist Julius Drake. From Hertfordshire and Budapest, they have a video chat on Zoom with Sholto Kynoch, covering aspects of the programme they would have performed tonight, Fauré's metronome markings, and Julius's tarte tatin... Dorottya and Julius have also done a remote recording of 'Songs my mother taught me' from Dvořák's Gypsy Songs and we've included two links to recent live recordings from Vienna. You can also find and listen to Dorottya's Spotify Playlist of her favourite recordings of her full programme.

Remember that you can find texts and translations of all the songs that were due to be performed today in the 'Explore' section on the main menu above, or by going to the original event listing and clicking on the Programme tab.
