The first day of our Schubert Weekend. Graham Johnson gives an in-depth lecture-recital on Schubert’s life in 1826, continuing his annual series surveying the final years of the composer’s life. Pianists Jan Philip Schulze – who will lead the Mastercourse next week – and Sholto Kynoch perform four-hand piano music by Schubert, including the F minor Fantasie. We then welcome back the exceptional soprano Camilla Tilling for a programme of Schubert songs alongside Mahler’s Rückert Lieder.
