Elle arbore les couleurs
Qu’arbore l’espace,
Elle choisit pour amant
Le premier nuage,
Que balance au firmament
La brise ou l’orage.
Mais à peine est-il passé
Qu’un autre attend son baiser !
Dans sa mantille de fleur,
La rivière passe.

It heightens the colours
That space has heightened,
And chooses for lover
The first cloud
That the breeze or storm
Propels in the firmament.
But scarcely has it scudded by,
Than another awaits its kiss!
In its floral mantilla
The river flows by.
