L'hiver

A soufflé sur la rivière.
Un lourd manteau de cristal
s’est étendu sur l’eau claire.
Les poissons bleus ont filé
Dans les algues serpentines.
Et l’âpre hiver a gelé
Les doigts roses des ondines!
Winter

Natasha Loges
Has blown onto the river.
A heavy mantle of crystal
Has spread itself over the clear water.
The blue fish have slipped away
Into the serpentine weeds.
And the harsh winter has frozen
The pink fingers of the mermaids!
