Daj tol'ko solncu za goru zajti,
k tebe ja skoro vyjdu!
Tjomnoj noch'ju ty podojdjosh' ko mne,
podobna utrennej zare,
krasiva, kak jevetok, jedva rascvetshij,
i ruku nezhnuju, gorjachuju
ot strasti i ljubvi k tebe,
ja ruku polozhu na grud' tvoju.
Drug k drugu my prizhmjomsja;
ljozha, celovat'sja budem,
ruki podlozhiv pod golovy vzamen podushek;
bjodra sblizim.
O, kak ljublju ja,
kak ljublju tebja ja strastno, nezhno,
moja radost'.

Daj tol'ko solncu za goru zajti,
k tebe ja vyjdu.

Love
English translation © Philip Ross Bullock

As soon as the sun slips behind the mountain,
I shall soon come to meet you!
In the dark night, you will approach me,
Like the break of day,
As beautiful as a flower that has just come into bloom,
And my hand – tender, hot
With passion and love for you –
I shall place on your breast.
We shall hold each other tight;
As we lie there, we shall kiss,
With our hands under our heads instead of pillows;
We shall bring our thighs together.
Oh how I love you,
How passionately and tenderly I loved you,
My joy.

As soon as the sun slips behind the mountain,
I shall come to meet you!
