18 October 2022, 5:00pm - 6:15pm
Presented in association with the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building and St Hilda's College
Rosalind Ventris is one of the UK’s best-known violists, and in 2021 she was appointed Director of Musical Performance at the University of Oxford, and Senior Research Fellow at St Hilda’s College. This concert features music from her forthcoming recording of music by female English composers, as well as songs for which she is joined by soprano Héloïse Werner, known to Oxford Lieder audiences as a member of ensemble The Hermes Experiment. The programme includes music by Sally Beamish, Elizabeth Maconchy, Héloïse Werner, and Nicola LeFanu, who also introduces the concert in conversation with Martyn Harry.
