A short story of falling
14 March 2026, 7:45pm - 9:00pm
Harriet Burns and Ian Tindale are acclaimed as a duo, both for their exceptionally communicative performances and brilliantly imaginative programmes. Tonight's recital, based on their latest album, is a kaleidoscope of songs from the UK, pairing some of today's brightest compositional voices with gems from the Edwardian era. Taking its title from a poem by Alice Oswald, its starting point is stories about 'falling' both literally and metaphorically: falling from power, falling ill, and of course falling in love. With vibrant texts and music from Roger Quilter, via Flanders and Swann, to Cheryl Frances-Hoad, this is certain to be a vivid and memorable recital.
