EXTRA PERFORMANCE - 49b. On Wenlock Edge: Daniel Norman, Sholto Kynoch & Brodsky Quartet
20 October 2019, 5:30pm - 6:15pm
In 2014, Oxford Lieder commissioned an animated film of Schubert’s Erlkönig from puppeteer Jeremy Hamway-Bidgood that has been viewed nearly 5 million times! Jeremy has now created a new animated film for Ralph Vaughan Williams’s settings of Housman, On Wenlock Edge, designed for live performance. In the newly refurbished auditorium at St John’s College, we are thrilled to welcome the world-renowned Brodsky Quartet, together with acclaimed tenor Daniel Norman and pianist Sholto Kynoch, for a performance of this masterpiece alongside a screening of this exciting new film. Songs by Purcell and Finzi are also included in the programme.
