Korngold Quintet: Liebeck, Carroll, Forsberg

The great Swedish pianist and Korngold enthusiast Bengt Forsberg returns with a team of world-class string players to perform Korngold’s Piano Quintet, Op.15, one of the most important works of his output. Star violinist Jack Liebeck, well known to Oxford audiences as the artistic director of Oxford May Music, also plays the wonderful Much Ado about Nothing suite for violin and piano, and the exceptional baritone Martin Hässler (who also appears in the Liebeslieder Walzer concert on 25 October) sings the haunting Lieder des Abschieds, which Korngold quotes in the Piano Quintet.
