01. Winter Words: Joshua Ellicott & Anna Tilbrook
27 February 2021, 11:00am - 12:00pm
Live-streamed from the Holywell Music Room, presented by Petroc Trelawny
Our Winter into Spring weekend gets underway with Benjamin Britten’s astonishing Winter Words: evocative settings of Thomas Hardy that represent one of those perfect meetings of poet and composer. We’re delighted that this cycle, and other winter-themed songs, will be performed by acclaimed tenor Joshua Ellicott and pianist Anna Tilbrook. Their recent recital for the Lammermuir Festival was described by The Scotsman as ‘glorious’, with ‘rich, radiant colours’.
This concert will be streamed completely live from the Holywell Music Room. Shortly afterwards, it will also be available to watch again, using the same ticket and link, until 21 March (11 April for Pioneer Pass holders). Click here for further information on how tickets will work this year.
