02. Nardus Williams & Sholto Kynoch

27 February 2021, 1:30pm - 2:30pm

Live-streamed from the Holywell Music Room, presented by Petroc Trelawny

The exceptional young soprano Nardus Williams made a great impression at the last Lieder Festival in one of our ‘emerging artist’ slots and we are pleased that she is able to return for this recital. She and pianist Sholto Kynoch perform two Purcell songs – 'Sweeter than Roses and his magnificent 'Evening Hymn' – and Brahms' eight glorious settings of Georg Daumer, Op.57. Their programme concludes with William Walton's exuberant cycle 'A Song for the Lord Mayor's Table', written in 1962 for the City of London Festival, where it was premiered by Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Gerald Moore.

This concert will be streamed completely live from the Holywell Music Room. Shortly afterwards, it will also be available to watch again, using the same ticket and link, until 21 March (11 April for Pioneer Pass holders). Click here for further information on how tickets will work this year.
