65. Anne-Lise Polchlopek, Elenora Pertz: From Paris to the Mediterranean
27 October 2022, 1:00pm - 2:00pm
The French mezzo Anne-Lise Polchlopek, who studied in Spain as well as Paris, and Italian-American pianist Elenora Pertz present a sun-soaked Mediterranean journey in song. They move from France - Fauré, Saint-Saëns and others - to Italy, where they range from Alessandro Scarlatti to Rossini, Tosti and Bellini. From there, they head to Spain, with a wonderful group of songs by Fernando Obradors (anyone hungry for more sounds of Spain should return at 5pm for Event 66). A truly uplifting afternoon to transport us back into summer!
Anne-Lise Polchlopek and Elenora Pertz won the Special Prize together at the last Boulanger Competition. Anne-Lise is a graduate of the prestigious studio at the Opéra National de Lyon and has a busy career combining opera and song. Elenora appeared last year with tenor Kaëlig Boché under the auspices of the Royaumont Foundation. She works with many leading singers, as well as being a regular guest repetiteur at both the Deutsche Oper and Komische Oper in Berlin.
