Presented in association with Hastings International Piano Competition
22-year-old Canadian pianist Ryan Zhu recently won the prestigious Hastings International Piano Competition, giving an electrifying performance of Prokofiev’s Second Piano Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This brilliant young virtuoso performs Beethoven’s first Piano Sonata in F minor, and Schumann’s breathtaking Carnaval, a sequence of 21 short pieces written in 1825 and representing the many and varied characters at a masked ball.
