24 October 2018, 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Supported by The Fidelio Charitable Trust.

In the bicentenary of his birth, find out more about Charles Gounod and his turbulent relationship with the scandal-prone English singer, campaigner and litigator Georgina Weldon, through this narrated recital devised and written by Henrietta Bredin. Enjoy the highs and lows of this unlikely relationship, while taking in songs written by an undisputed master of melody who, despite being thought of as primarily an opera composer, was arguably the father of the French mélodie.
