Nuits d'Afrique: Harriet Burns, Adam Walker, Brian O'Kane and James Baillieu
22 October 2018, 5:30pm - 6:30pm
An astonishing team of artists assemble for this concert, including star flautist Adam Walker. They perform Ravel’s Chansons Madécasses - ‘Madagascan Songs’ - scored for the unusual ensemble of voice, flute, cello and piano. They also include a new cycle by the Master of the Queen’s Music, Judith Weir: Nuits d’Afrique. This was written for the same forces as the Ravel, and was premiered last year at Wigmore Hall. We also hear works by Saint-Saëns and Berlioz in this glorious programme.
PLEASE NOTE: Harriet Burns has replaced Ailish Tynan due to illness.
