Chloé Dumoulin

Pianist Chloé Dumoulin makes her Maison Symphonique debut under Jacques Lacombe in 2021 and was a soloist with Orchestre Métropolitain in 2016. Active on the national and international scene, Chloé was invited to perform in Canada, USA, Italy, France and Belgium. Grand winner of the piano category, Troisième Grand Prix Québécor and Hélène-Lessard special prize at Concours Prix d’Europe 2021, Chloé was also grand prize winner of the Festival-Concours de Sherbrooke in 2021, 1st prize at the Canadian Music Competition and 2nd grand prize of the CFMTA’s National Piano Competition. Winner of a 2023 prize from the Fondation Sylva-Gelber, she is also supported by the Fondation du Conservatoire, Fondation Desjardins, Fonds AIDA (Jeunesses musicales du Canada) and the London Goodenough Association of Canada.

Regularly invited in concerts here and abroad, Chloé has opened for numerous orchestras, including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the Orchestre Métropolitain. More recently, she was part of the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur’s 2023 season in solo recital and was selected for the Festival de Lanaudière 2023 international mentoring program.

Chloé Dumoulin graduated in May 2023 from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where she completed a double masters degree, in solo piano with André Laplante and collaborative piano with Claire Ouellet. She also did a chamber music specialization in 2022, obtained with distinction. In the course of her training, she attended several advanced courses and master classes, including Louis Lortie, Éric Le Sage, Ilya Poletaev, Anton Nel, Angela Cheng and Daniel Shapiro. In September 2023, Chloé will attend the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London (UK), where she has been award a full scholarship to complete an Artist Diploma with Ronan O’Hora.

Also a chamber musician and collaborative pianist, Chloé founded the Quatuor Vatra in 2020. Invited to the Montreal Chamber Music Festival in 2021, 2022 and 2023, they have performed at Salle Bourgie and Maison Symphonique, among other venues. The Quatuor Vatra has also won first prize at the Canadian Music Competition, a Canimex bursary, the grand prize of both Festival-Concours de Sherbrooke and Classical Competition in 2022. A very active chamber musician on the Montreal scene, she has also taken part in the chamber music series of the Chapelle Bon-Pasteur, the Ahuntsic en Fugue festival, ECM+ and the Pentaèdre ensemble.

Chloé sors regularly with instrumentalists and singers, and will be taking part in the Oxford Song Mastercourse in October. She also has a wealth of experience as an orchestral pianist and coach. She has notably worked with the Orchestre Métropolitain and Les Violons du Roy.
